Katharine Meadows, development manager, Jackdaws Music Education Trust
While people often only think of profit-making businesses requiring the sevices of an accountant, charities face their own unique demands, ranging from managing large donations to complying with increasingly complex legislation.
Jackdaws Music Education Trust is a music charity based in Great Elm, near Frome which organises residential music courses, community workshops and a wide range of concerts.
The charity has benefited greatly from the expertise of Mark Hunter, whose firm provides accounting and payroll services. However, Mark’s services do not end there.
Mark also provides invaluable advice on a wide range of matters affecting Jackdaws. He ensures the charity is aware of any important issues well in advance and advises on ways to avoid any potential problems which may arise.
He also attends meetings of the charity’s board of trustees, which take place up to four times a year, to provide members with an update.
Katharine Meadows, the charity’s development manager, has no doubt that Mark’s support has been vital to Jackdaws’ continuing success.
She says: “He is very helpful and always goes the extra mile to ensure we are kept fully up to date with anything we need to know about.
“He understands how we operate and we know he always has our best interests at heart. We are very happy with the service he provides.”
Although Katharine has not yet had the opportunity to recommend Mark to others, she would have no hesitation in doing so.
